FAQ
What is the function of the blue ‘Reset’ button and how does it differ from the red ‘Stop’ button?
The blue button is used to reset the relay after a thermal trip has occurred. It can be set to manual or automatic reset mode. The red ‘Stop’ button manually trips the relay (simulating an overload) for testing purposes and can also be used to stop the motor circuit by opening the NC contact.
Can this LRD12 relay be mounted independently, or does it require a specific contactor?
The LRD12 is designed for direct mounting onto Schneider Electric TeSys D contactors (such as LC1D09 to LC1D38). However, it can also be mounted independently on a DIN rail using a separate mounting base, like the LAD7B106.
What does ‘Trip Class 10A’ signify for this thermal overload relay?
Trip Class 10A means the relay will trip within 10 seconds when the motor is subjected to a locked-rotor current that is 7.2 times the set current. This class is suitable for standard motor starting applications.
